1.Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the band since the recording and release of the new ep?
We've already started working on a new release, at this point it is planned to be the next full length album. Otherwise than that it has been mostly promoting the EP. Those combined take a fair amount of time.
2.In June you had released a new ep,how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording and also how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?
The new material is more sinister, gloomy and aggressive. Also the style is more refined, on "The Grim Tales of the Elder" there was a bit of this and that. Now it can be easily described (in my opinion) as melodic/symphonic death metal. "The Grim Tales of the Elder" also had a fair amount of folk metal type of influences which are quite non-excistent on "The Art of Chaos".
3.This is the first release to be come out in 4 years, can you tell us a little bit more about what has been going on during that time frame?
We've had a lot of line-up changes in these 4 years, even at the moment I am the only permanent member. The others work as session musicians which I call when needed. As usual, the personal life outside the band can be hectic, which is exactly what happened in this case. We have been doing gigs in Finland with a steady pace meanwhile. We've also refined these songs and some unreleased too. As a hindsight it was good in a way that the release was delayed as the songs evolved all the way until the release.
4.Your lyrics cover some fantasy and mythology themes, can you tell us a little bit more about your interest in these subjects?
The lyrical themes bounce between reality and fantasy, they are really neither compeletly. Even though lyrics with a specific story can be amazing I personally prefer lyrics that allow you to understand them however you want to, kind of reflect them to your own life and experiences. Yet again we see enough real life as we live it, that's why I give them the fantasy/mythological tone. I usually do not discuss the lyrics or what they mean to me in specific because I do not want to tell people how to comprehend them. It would take a big deal of the magic away.
5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Enthring'?
The name actually means nothing even though it has a strong fantasy literature vibe in it.
6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?
The best show I've had was while opening for Korpiklaani on our tour in Brazil. The show was at Clash Club and it was amazing to play such a big and great audience. Our stage performance is evolving all the time, until the time it is perfect which will be never. We attempt to give all we got, in the future we might be adding some theatrical elements to it.
7.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?
At the moment we have not made any specific plans as we are still working the with the promotion of "The Art of Chaos" and the new album is in the making. We will still keep your eyes and ears open for possible opportunities.
8.Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?
We've had some tentative interest since the release of "The Grim Tales of the Elder" but we've been quite adamant that we will not accept a deal just for the sake of getting one. We are interested in joining a label if we find one which can offer a deal that benefits both parties.
9.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of symphonic and melodic death metal?
The feedback has been excellent overall, better than what I could have ever hoped for. There are tons of people who have not even heard of us so good and bad feedback will keep on coming. Such is the business.
11.When can we expect another full length and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
The most recent plan is on having the music composed by the end of the year at latest. At the moment the style is going to be quite similar as it is with the new EP. Everything will just be better, we still have a lot more to give.
12.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
The bands that have highly influenced me are such as Wintersun, Kalmah, Children of Bodom, Ensiferum, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Nightwish and Dimmu Borgir. There are plenty of more and the influences may or may not be heard in the material.
13.What are some of your non musical interests?
Gaming and TV-series such as The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. I also have a beautiful little daughter which takes a fair slice of my time.
