The Franks Daredevils/Dead Inside/Via Nocturna/2016 CD Review

The  Franks  Daredevils  are  a  band  from  Quebec,  Canada  that  plays  an  melodic  and  old  school  mixture  of  death  and  thrash  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2016  album  "Dead  Inside"  which was  released  by Via  Nocturna.

Spoken  word  parts  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  along  with  some  aggressive vocals  that  seem  to  be  influenced  by  thrash  and  there  are  also  melodies  being  used  at  times  and  the  solos  and  leads  also  stick  to  a  very  melodic  style  and  high  pitched  screams  can  also  be  heard  at  times.

Throughout  the  recording  you  can  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  the music  also  brings  in  a  lot  of  80's  and  90's  influences  while  still  sounding  very  modern  and  some  of  the  tracks  bring  in  a  small  amount  of  clean  playing  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  sound  very  powerful  and  there  is  also  a  brief  use  of  melodic  singing  while  some  songs  also  bring  in  elements  of  groove  metal.

The  Franks  Daredevils  plays  a  musical  style  that takes  old  school  thrash  and  death  metal  and  mixes  it  in  with  a  more  modern  melodic  death  sound  to  create something  very  different,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  violent,  real  life  and  political  themes.

In  my  opinion  The  Franks  Daredevils  are  a  very  great  sounding  melodic  mixture  of  death  and  thrash  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Searching  For  Redemption"  "Position  Of Power"  "The  Revelation  Of  God"  and  "Degradation  Of  Liberty".  8  out  of  10.
