Lock Up are a band from the United Kingdom that consists of many veterans and plays a mixture of death metal and grindcore and this is a review of their 2017 album "Demonization" which will be released in March by listenable Records.
Horror movie samples start off the album before going into a very fast grindcore direction along with a great amount of blast beats while the vocals are a mixture of screams and death metal growls and you can also hear a small amount of melody in some of the guitar riffing and spoken vocals are also used at times.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them and some tracks also bring in a small amount of back up vocals and there is only a brief use of guitar leads and the album also remains very heavy and brutal from start to finish.
Lock Up plays a musical style on this recording that mixes the heaviest forms of death metal and grindcore to create a very brutal album, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark, scientific, corruption, greed and anger themes.
In my opinion Lock Up are a very great sounding mixture of death metal and grindcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Blood And Emptiness" "Demons Raging" "The Plague that Stalks The Darkness" and "Secret Parallel World". 8 out of 10.
